Articles of Faith of the Steps of Zion

As agreed upon by the active members of this order, June 1993, self imposed, mandated by faith and answerable only to the Universal Power that is G-d.

I. Deity

We believe in the existence of a Supreme Power, greater in scope and being than man, that this Power or Force pervades every part and element of our reality and it is our spiritual task to attain a deeper understanding and closer relation with such Power.

II. Multifaceted Impression of Deity

We believe that Deity may be perceived by different individuals or peoples in different ways, manners and forms and that it is not within the scope of our spiritual goals to determine wrongness in any form or manner in which Deity may be observed or perceived.

III. Transmission of Knowledge

We believe that throughout time Deity has inspired works of great spiritual content and that it is within our spiritual freedom to seek greater closeness with Deity through these avenues as they may be presented.

IV. Inspiration

We believe that the act of direct conveyance of spiritual knowledge from Deity to an individual is possible and has occurred at various times.

V. Responsibility

We believe that each individual is responsible for the results of their actions and that it is the responsibility of each person to determine the rightness or wrongness of their own actions in how they affect their fellow man, the society at large and influence reality. We also believe that wrong actions carry consequences.

VI. Expression

We believe that man's relation with Deity may be expressed in many and various forms, each suited to the needs and nature of the participants. We allow that while each act of observation may not suffice for every individual it is both accepted and encouraged to seek such forms of observation as may be necessary to allow a deeper connection with Deity.

VII. Harm None

We state that it is our express goal to seek a deeper relationship with Deity in a way in which we do not inflict harm or suffering of any kind upon another person, creature or facet of nature.
