The Steps of Zion web site was first introduced to the Internet in June of 1993. The Steps of Zion Ministry along with its web site has changed in many ways over time. The Ministry, now simply referred to as the Steps of Zion has evolved into a loosely organized association of similarly minded students of the Spiritual Quest. It was decided a number of years back that with the amount of information available on the Internet being so overwhelming and the decade of the 90's being so new to the Internet that perhaps a Ministry directly servicing Cyber-Space was not in the community's best interest. People became drunk with opportunity and confusion became a normal and accepted experience. We withdrew the Ministry and allowed the currents to settle.

During our hiatus off-line the works of the members of the Steps of Zion continued in their local areas. Working face-to-face will always be our first love and our preferred manner of serving the community. The direct reference to our Order being a Ministry was reviewed and reconsidered. We found ourselves delving more and more into direct Apprenticeships and long term research projects. It was agreed upon that the term "ministry" associated our Order too closely to the Protestant and Non-Denominational bodies of Christianity and that while this was not deemed a negative connotation, it was not accurate. The Steps of Zion is simply understood by its members to be a Contemplative Order of spiritual students engaged in traveling the Path of the Great Quest.

As you visit our site please keep these things in mind; I typically employ masculine terms for Deity. I do this in order to keep things consistent. It is not intended in any way to suggest a strictly masculine view of Deity, it's simply easier and more space effective than writing "He/She/It/They/Them/Us" every time I mention Deity.

Please keep in mind that the contents of this site reflect the immediate interests of the web site author. The inclusion or exclusion of any Faith or sect is not to be interpreted as a valuation of any kind. Material which draws comments and curiosity will be maintained and expounded upon. Material which is found to be uninteresting or is covered in greater detail in other locations will be thinned out if not deleted. Your input is always desired.
