About the Steps of Zion |
-
Originally organized as a congregation of the Universal Life
Church, Modesto, California, the Steps of Zion was formed by previous
members of the Divine Order of the Rose and Cross, Sedona, Arizona.
While contemporary religious services are performed upon request, the
congregation was reorganized in the late 90's as a research and
contemplative Order.
-
Ordained members still carry on the Sacraments of their chosen
Faiths but the emphasis of purpose has been shifted to exploring world
theologies and theosophies toward the promotion of better relations
between the Faiths.
-
Members participate in many lists, chat groups and local
organizations in order to gain as much understanding of world
religious interests as possible and through shared information,
promote tolerance and understanding.
Participation includes the American Academy of Religion, Interfaith
Alliance, Interfaith Encounter, United Communities of Spirit, Various
Church groups, Masonic Organizations and Independent Study Groups.
People join the Steps of Zion not to gain exposure or achieve some
type of elevated status but to know that their contributions are being
combined with others of like mind toward a larger goal. Most people
outside the Steps of Zion don't even know it exists. We don't consider
this a bad thing.
